Abstract
Background Sleep breathing related disorders defined by frequent episodes of breathing difficulties during sleep, characterized by sleep-related decreases (hypopneas) or pauses (apneas) in respiration. Objectives this study conducted to assess depression and anxiety in patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. Also, this study investigated the association of depression and anxiety with body mass index (BMI), Epworth sleepiness scale (ESS), and the severity of OSAS in these patients. Methods analytical observational cross-sectional study done on 158 patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea presenting in our tertiary hospital E.N.T outpatient clinic, during the study period.
