Abstract
Objective: assess the functional and cosmetic outcomes of batten cartilage grafts in the treatment of dynamic nasal valve collapse. Patients and Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted on 31 patients diagnosed with dynamic nasal valve based on history, clinical examination and modified Cottle maneuver, preoperative assessment for nasal obstruction was done using the validated Arabic version of the nasal obstruction symptom evaluation score (NOSE) and peak nasal inspiratory flow rate (PNIF) ,assessment of the aesthetic aspect was done using the visual analogue scale (VAS) and the validated Arabic version of the Rhinoplasty Outcomes Evaluation questionnaire (ROE), the grafts were harvested from septal or conchal cartilage and placed in precise pockets in the lateral nasal wall to support the area of maximal collapse, postoperative assessment was done 6 months later using NOSE , PNIF , VAS and ROE .
